Tech News

TechMondays are Here!

The Technology Department is excited to introduce a series of professional development technology workshops for the 2009-2010 school year held right here in the district. These free, one hour workshops run from 2:45pm to 3:45pm in the high school and 3:15pm-4:15pm in the elementary school, and are designed to not only introduce you to the hottest trends and applications in technology now, but also to get you started using the best tech out there in your own classroom the minute you leave the course! Tech Mondays also qualify for in-service credit (see Frank Faber for details), so you can get paid while improving those highly sought after technology skills. Ranging from software programs to web design to the hip, new websites that everyone’s buzzing about, there’s something for everyone on Tech Mondays!

New Media Consortium's K-12 Horizon Report

The New Media Consortium's (link here) report focuses on six major technology trends that will impact K-12 education within the next five years. Some of the trends we're doing already, some we've talked about in TechTimes, and some we'd like to do. It makes for interesting reading.
