Recycling Helpers

The Elementary school is recycling lots of plastic bottles, which is GREAT but is also work and we could use some volunteers to agree to rotate the responsibility of picking up the bottles from school and taking them to the store. The money is going into a PTA recycling fund to help buy more recycling equipment for the school.

If you are interested, see Mrs. Young.

Blackbird Paradise Garden
Volunteer Opportunities

High School Students: Looking for community service hours to fulfill graduation or National Honor Society requirement?
Blackbird Paradise, our school and community garden, offers an opportunity for high school students to volunteer and earn hours toward the 15-20 hours of community service required for graduation and required to maintain National Honor Society membership.
Help with general upkeep, general gardening tasks (no experience necessary), or assist master gardeners with small group activities in the garden working with young children. Earn as many or as few service hours as you wish or just lend a hand for fun. Volunteer opportunities are available early spring through fall harvest.
If interested, email vvillegarden@gmail.com or contact Bri McAlevey at 768-2122 or Vickie Hesselbacher at 765-5610.

	GO BEYOND!

The Elementary School is looking to start an after school activity series for students of all grade levels. Some ideas for after school classes could be: Learn To Juggle, Engineer A Bridge, Basic Balloon Animals, Snow-shoeing (the school has a set of 25), Astronomy/Constellations... and more! They are looking for many more of your fun-filled and educational ideas for this series.

Each session would run as a one-time event from 3:00-4:00 after a school day. The sessions would be designed to give students a quick introduction to a skill, activity, or subject of interest.

If you feel that you could help us out with ideas or participation, please fill out the form and return it to Mr. Reardon as soon as possible. We will then work out a schedule that is good for the volunteers who can help with a given session.
