In the Fall/Winter 2006 issue our contributors cover a variety of topics! In our essay section, Garrett Simpson discusses beauty in the current works of Greg Maguire, Taryn Smith writes of Salem Massachussett's seafaring past, Sarah Miller looks at love and loss in William Faulkner's "A Rose for Emily," RJ Curreri analyzes Oedipus Rex, and Andrew DuBay deconstructs Satan as seen in popular movies and literature. In fiction, we have three stories that swing from fantasy clashes in Pennsylvania, to loss and mourning on Cape Cod, to family upheaval in England. We even have a short play by Katrina Nakao, and the Blackbird Interview this month is with our own Dick Freyer!
Check out The Blackbird Blog, our blog written by our very own student editors. Follow the link above on the menu bar to get to the blog, and see what our editors are reading, thinking about, and sounding off about. We wil also have material that we didn't include in the final edition of the magazine, and other extra freebies!
