Mrs. Snyder's and Mrs. Burnham's student teachers completed our unit on
                the rain forests of the world. As you probably saw, your children did very
                well in their unit tests.

                    We've now begun our unit on the deserts of the world. Mini mobiles have
                been made by each child. If you walk down our hall, you're sure to see our
                150 foot saguaro cactus, painted by your children.

                    Poetry has also been enjoyed by all. We are writing cinquain desert poems,
                as well as learning about alliteration, similies, onomatopoeia, and rhythm in
                verse.

                    Next week 3S and 3Bu will be "flying" to the Sahara Desert. Be on the look-
                out for our next long range assignment: your child will be asked to make a
                desert survival kit.
